The Women Who Built Bristol 1184 – 2018
This volume was published in 2018 to mark the centenary of when some women received the vote. The book is a celebration of the women with a tangible connection to Bristol who she said “got stuff done”. The women may have been born in Bristol, died here or lived in the city for a significant proportion of their lives. Any woman who did something of public interest in or for Bristol was eligible to be included in the book. The only rule for entry was that the women must no longer be alive. This is a very interesting book, excellent for delving into to discover someone you had not realised made a contribution to Bristol, and guaranteed to surprise.
