Indexes to Bristol Record Office Tithe Apportionment Books

Bristol Archives (formerly the Bristol Record Office) hold the Tithe Maps and Apportionment Books for many parishes within the Diocese of Bristol. These records, mainly covering the country parishes, can be of great value to family historians. They may help to locate an ancestor’s home, show the amount of property they owned or rented, and as most are dated between 1840 and 1850 perhaps aid in finding them in the 1841 or 1851 census.
Approximately 38,000 records are divided into bookmarked owner and occupier indexes.
