How much do you know about Old Market?

Find out at next Monday’s Bristol Group meeting where Mike Manson will be talking about “Vice and Virtue – Old Market through the ages”.

Michael is the author of four history books on Bristol including: Bristol Beyond the Bridge, Riot! The Bristol Bridge Massacre of 1793, The Hidden History of St Andrews and Vice and Virtue. The title of this talk is a playful nod to complex interlinked themes that have defined the area for centuries and introduces the listener to people who have created Old Market’s history.

Old Market Street is an ancient market place which developed immediately outside the walls of Bristol Castle on what was for many centuries the main road to London.

Michael’s talk will start at 7.30pm although the bookstall, storage materials and a helpdesk are available from 7pm. All are welcome – free to members and non-members.
